FIrst Whitetail Deer

I have no recollection of the event in the photograph, but apparently this was my first whitetail deer kill.
My surmise is that I somehow wrestled it down and broke its neck. My mother was obviously trying to make sure that I did not ruin the meat in the throes of my herculean infant enthusiasm.
Date? I would guess late November of 1955. I apologize for the small size of the deer, but plead to you that I was less than two years old at the time and was therefore possibly overeager.
This is American gun culture.
